The Colours of - Colour Hunting

Colours of… is a touring project that adapts and changes according to the place that it is made in response to.  It manifests as a pop up nail bar that offers a bespoke range of coloured nail polishes all relating to aspects of the local area.

For To the Sea , the colours will also be used to inform other aspects of the festival.  The colour palette will be developed in collaboration with local communities through a number of engagement opportunities - asking what makes the area unique? What do you love, what do you hate! And what colour is it!

Outreach/Engagement Dates

8th July - Victoria Priamry School  

14th July - Alexandra Park 10am - 12am 

Colour walk - looking for/ documenting colours in local environment.

Creating individual colour palettes / and naming the colours - colour mixing / research /  thinking more widely the Penarth area (with prompts to think about places you go / and seasonality) - we then look at these to see what colours and names appear often.

These workshops and other engagement events all act as active research to feed into and shape what the final colour palette will look like. Please let us know if you have a local community group or buisness who would like to engage with the colour hunt!
